Hey look, I am getting better at this blogging thing

It's not been months, mere days, since I last blogged. Not much new, though. I am almost done with my Christmas crochet projects. Soon I will be finished. I promise I won't be crocheting in the dark on the way to SLC for the holiday -- like last year. I may crochet in the dark on the way, but I won't be franticly finishing something. Gotta love the light up hooks.

B is feeling better today. I must admit to having a "swirly" tummy on Monday, but seem to be over that as well. I have too much to do to be sick. That said, I am going to bed before -- yes before -- 11 tonight.

Merry Christmas

I can't believe it's been since August since I have blogged. So much has happened....

I am working 2 days a week as a home health aide, 1 day a week at our church, and volunteering 1 afternoon a week at my son's school. Plus taking classes.

I just finished the week from that really hot place....stuff going every night since Thursday and now am home with a sick kid. On the plus side, it gives me one more day to recover from the weekend and get caught up and maybe ahead on some Christmas projects.

Take care, ya'all. Know we love you.

And remember...

Jesus came to pay a debt He didn't owe, because we owe a debt we cannot pay.

New Job

Wow. That is the fastest I have ever become employed. From submitting my resume to being hired was only about 72 hours. I am going to be doing home health care as a CNA two days a week. Go in on Thursday for orientation, finger printing, etc.

And only this week left for Chemistry class. Whew. I will be glad for it to be over.

Caillou Rock and Roll Band

BJ has been playing "Calliou Rock and Roll Band" all morning long. He has gotten both of my canning pots out and created a drum set out of them -- adding a box leaning on his foot stool and the Wii Fit balance Board. It's pretty ingenious but it's giving me a migraine! Yikes. I finally asked him to switch out my knitting needles (which he was using as drum sticks) for a spatula and a whisk, hoping they would be quieter. Nope. He is just sining louder -- and off key of course -- than ever to make up for the slighly -- very slightly -- less loud drum sticks.

It almost makes me glad I have to go to board meeting tonight.....

B's party

Just got home from taking B and two of his friends to the fair to ride rides for his birthday. One of the friends who went -- also a B name -- shares a birthday with our B, so that was kind of fun.

Need to get snacks ready for TOF tomorrow at church. Later, gater.

Woo Hoo! I passed my test!

Yeah me! I passed my written CNA test today (with a 96%!!!) so I now have the initials CNA to put after my name. Yeah!

Now to find a job....

CNA test tomorrow...

I am only a little worried about my written test tomorrow. I took some practice tests today and averaged 93%. I need 80% to pass, so I feel pretty good about it in general.

I am pleased with the response I got from BSU about taking the test on a day other than Sabbath. They got back to me in a very reasonable amount of time, and the test isn't months away (which was actually my biggest fear!).

I passed the skills test a while ago, so this is the final step in getting my certification. Once I have that, I will seek employment. Another nerve racking proposal, but it will go fine, I am sure.

As for Chemistry -- it's about to do me in right now. The chapter we just finished is as confusing as could possibly be. I wrote the paper for that class at 11:30 one night, did just a cursory look over it before I turned it in and am hoping for the best. It's 15% of my grade, so I need to do ok on it. If I get a C in the class, I will be most happy!

Nutrition is my next class. I am doing it on-line, and I hear it's brutal, but I will make it work.

I guess I should go do my homework --- after lunch and maybe a nap!

New Blog

I am trying out this new blog. It seems easier than the last one I was using....
